Rich Caddell is a retired Lieutenant of the York, South Carolina Police Department with 20 years of experience. Rich grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and was hired by York Police Department in 1996. Rich graduated from the South Carolina Justice Academy with distinguished honor and began his career as a law enforcement officer in the Patrol Division. Rich was promoted to Sergeant and restarted the K-9 Unit for YPD of which ran under his direction for the seven years. Following his tenure in Patrol, Rich was promoted again to Shift Lieutenant where he supervised all aspects of patrol functions including supervising and planning special events for the city. Rich was then transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division as the supervisor of investigations. During this time, Rich received advanced training in homicide investigation, child death investiagtions, sexual assaults, and interview and interrogation techniques. Rich retired from YPD in January 2017 and joined LPA's Roundtable of Experts. While currently working on his degree in Criminal Justice, Rich will work cases and teach as an LPA Associate.
